I am enjoying everyones inputs here , poems and all ~
with gratitude for lovers of peace , light , love , truth i offer you one of mine .

* Lightwalker *

I walk the trail of the light
my heart lamp lit within
feeling my way along
obstacles come
I may trip , fall
but learn, get up , walk on
so beautiful this heart path
even with the joys and sorrows
of living , surviving, ups , downs
tis a great gift
human body breathing breath of light
growing my sight , blooming my awareness
so i can see
more of life on earths Divine Light

Thank you Love , thank you Life , thank you Light

As you grow peace within you it draws peace to your environment as well. Peace; if it's going to be it's up to me. ~Dave Kenyon

DRAW IN PEACE

I Think they Lied

I was brought up
to think warriors
were valiant
their deeds
were filled with
courage and bravery;
instead what I see
is misery
and pain
hospital beds
or rows of graves,
a vanquished slavery.

I was brought up
to respect fighters
in stories
who gave
up their lives
as a willing sacrifice;
but instead I find
that they were
just killed
by chance
for a cause
of hatred or malice.

I was brought up
on proud tales
by old soldiers
with medals
and tears
for fellows that died;
instead I now read
these tales
were untrue
some lived
some were killed
so, I think they lied.

There is no glory
in a war story
obscene and gory
just cause?
You judge.
But is it the only way?
To fight or not
the choice
be killed a hero
or shot as a coward
and for this lie
we still have no say.

Can You
Move like a termite
Twenty feet below the ground
Without the ability to see
Through hard soil and rocks
To a small amount of moisture
Underneath a fallen tree

Can you
Fly like a hummingbird
From flower to flower
Upside-down and backwards
With such precision
Gathering nectar and pollen
With abounding energy

Can you
Work together like ants
Placing a pulp like coating
Over their hillside home
Waiting for the rains
To turn their ship over
Sailing through the storm

Can you
Like some lizards
Lay eggs in the sand
Cover them up and leave
And come back
The day they hatch

Can you
Like a butterfly
Place an egg on a leaf
And leave
Knowing that egg
Contains all the necessities
To complete all of the steps
Of its miraculous existence

Can you
Quit killing each other
Stop fearing the unknown
Tell no more lies
Realize that you
Are a part of everything
No better
No worse

The beauty of a woman
isn't in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman
must be seen from in her eyes;
Because that's the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman
isn't in a facial mole;
But true beauty in a woman,
is reflected by her soul.

It's the caring that she cares to give,
the passion that she shows;
And the beauty of a woman
with passing years only grows.

Though we are many, We are ONE

From every corner of the globe
Talking all of our fabulous tongues,
From every walk of life we come
From East, West, North and South
From every direction we come
To join together as One
Though we are many, we are ONE

Our cultures and cosmologies differ
Our customs, habits and rituals differ
Our clothes, jewellery and food differ
Our homes, hair and make up differ
And yet for all these many differences
We are the same, our cause is One
Though we are many, we are ONE

The way we pray and where we pray
The words we use and direction we face
The gifts we bring and we receive
All may seem different to the casual eye
And yet there can be but one Creator
Whom we have all learnt to serve
Though we are many, we are One

Our diversity brings many bright hues
To this our land of green and grey
Here our aim is wide inclusiveness
Rather than other’s narrow exclusivity
For to include is to honour and love
To accept, welcome and to receive
Though we are many, we are ONE

Today, our hands are joined
Our thoughts, joys and sorrows joined
Our hopes and our wishes are joined
Our friendships and families are joined
For we come together as one
To learn from each other as one
Though we are many, we are ONE
