SADHAK! (Spiritual Aspirants) BEWARE – Part-1 by Sri Sri Muralidhara swamiji

Dear All,

A Sadhak who is involved in spiritual practice should never exhibit himself in any way till he enjoys total experience.

In worldly life, too, many a leader seeing what they deem as shortcomings in the society start an organization with rehabilitation in mind. They commence such movements without any self-interest, in all goodwill and with a sense of sacrifice. However, eventually caught in the net of…

Life Is Like A Song

Life is like a song

Waiting to be sung.

Will it be played softly

Or like the beating of a drum?

The lyrics are being

Recorded each and every day

In all that we do

And in all that we say.

If we choose to…

THE NEED FOR LISTENING By H.H. Sri Sri Muralidhara swamiji

Dear All,

Focusing the mind on spiritual matters is very difficult since it has been accustomed to dwelling on worldly matters for crores of janmas (births).

Most of the time, people are aware of the mistakes they commit. Yet they are unable to avoid it as it has become habitual. When we listen to a person…

Dhyana (Practice of Mind control) last Part -by H.H Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Dear All,

Contd.....

A spiritual aspirant who practices dhyana should remember and follow certain rules. His speech, food intake and sleep should be within permissible limit. This does not mean he should totally give them up. Not so. The person who has control over his taste buds ('jihva') easily wins over his senses and progresses geometrically in his sadhana (practice).

He should speak only what…

Dhyana (Practice of Mind control) Part- 1 -by H.H Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Dear All,

None can be without doing any work. So, let the body performs any work but let the mind rest. This is dhyana. Every path, be it Bhakti(Devotion), Jnana(Wisdom) or Vichara (Enquiry) all finally lead to only dhyana. This includes even karma marga (Path of action). Dhyana does not mean just sitting with our eyes closed for long hours. Dhyana is popularly believed to be meditating on a form of God but even japa of a…

The word and signifigance of Peace

What is peace? I've been drawn to seek the essence of peace. Something about it has drawn my attention so as to draw deep grooves on my mind stream. I've been working on prayers that seem to come from my own latent potential to BE peace,as the only way to make a tiny result in family, neighborhood, city, state, nation, WORLD. I've found this effort to be of ultimate and immediate importance. But how? How can such an attitude be adopted by our family of earthlings? Mentors, elders are…

I was the world's worst waitress

One time I worked at Pizza Hut. It was a gawd awful job that I absolutely hated. I am not good at taking orders and apparently I am even worse at filling them. One day I was walking a tray full of drinks to a table. As I passed by a man at the salad bar, all of the sudden my tray tipped over and spilled all down his back. Of course I apologized profusely (sincerely too - I must add) He was amazingly nice about the whole thing. As I went about serving my customers in my most incompetent way,…

The Gandhian Philosophy in the Modern World: With Special Reference to Meditation and Meditative Way of Life –Dr. Ravindra Kumar & Dr. Kiran L Dangwal

“Man should earnestly desire well-being of all God’s creation and pray that he might have the strength to do so. In desiring the well-being of all lies his own welfare; he who desires only his own or his community’s welfare is selfish and it can never be well with him.”

The Gandhian philosophy is, in fact, that Ahimsa-based distinctive…
