Earth is Our Common Home

My life is interwoven

with countless other lives,

human and non-human;

together we create the wholeness

that is earth.

I cannot be except as part

of that wholeness;

because of that wholeness

I am a world citizen.

 

In humanity,

Life becomes especially conscious of itself.

It can reflect upon who it is

and thus can open the gate

to new possibilities born

of self-knowledge.

 

I am creative.

As life, I am one with the forces

of growth and progress.

As consciousness, I can direct

those forces with imagination and

with knowing, with wisdom and skill.

I can build what has never

been built before.

We can love and know

dream and change.

 

Together, we can serve

the destiny of life in our world

and unlock deep potentials.

In this service

is a key to our identity as humanity.

It is through this power

that I can fulfill my role

as a world citizen
