Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

I received this today and thought, not another one again, and then I thought, every other day is necessary so we will not forget. It’s too easy to get caught up in our own lives and I felt bad because of it. The saying “out of sight, out of mind” comes to me and this can’t be out of sight. Have a wonderful day.

WHEN A SOLDIER COMES HOME

When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard.....

...to listen to his son whine about being bored.

.....to keep a straigth face when people complain about potholes.

to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work

.....to be understanding when a co - worker complains about a bad night's sleep.

.....to be silent when people pray to God for a new car.

.....to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower.

.....to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying.

.....to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids of

to summer camp.

.....to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather.

.....to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold.

.....to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog.

.....to be civil to people who complain about their jobs.

.....to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.

.....to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house.

The only thing harder than being a Soldier.....

Is loving one

I was asked to pass this on and I will gladly do so,

Will You?

Christine,

Your words change nothing on the problem of the soldiers. They are and remain victims of war and Systems.

Thank You Eva and Yes You are correct in Your observation; 'out of sight out of mind'.
I have never been in the military myself but have an absolute reverence for those who do serve. I wish there was a better way of reintegrating soldiers when they come home and at the very least insure They and Their Family are set for life. ooo boy, I could go og but I'll leave it at that for now and again ... Thank You. to You and our soldiers.

Precisely for this reason I post the pictures and the theme. We all have no idea what it means to be a soldier. Soldiers are themselves victims, and suffer all their lives to the long-term consequences.

I was a soldier and in Kuwait, an some ways I am still one after 8 years, this will always be a part of me. People Don't realize the true sacrifice of those in uniform, if they have never worn one, it's all so very sad.

Quote of the moment:

"PEACE
NOT WAR
GENEROSITY
NOT GREED
EMPATHY
NOT HATE
CREATIVITY
NOT DESTRUCTION
EVERYBODY
NOT JUST US"
