Yoko Ono gives John Lennon a birthday message

Yoko Ono has delivered a birthday message from Iceland for her late husband John Lennon to mark his 70th birthday.

Yoko was in Reykjavik for the lighting of the Imagine Peace Tower.

'70 years ago today, October 9, 1940, John Lennon was born in Liverpool, England,' she said in a message posted on YouTube. 'He had a very painful childhood in which he hardly saw his mother or his father. But later he managed to turn his pain around to give the world many beautiful songs and important messages which changed our heads and the way of our lives'.

'Now I see you all celebrating his birthday today to thank him for giving us so much in his short and intense life on this planet. I know John was not expecting so much love to come from you but he would have been very happy to know it'.

Thank Qais,

John Lennon was a great international spirit. When he came back to New York he was assassinated probably by the CIA because he possessed the ability to transform the world through peace and not violence. Just like King, MalcolmX, and Ghandi the war mongers thought he had to be eliminated to preserve the status quo. http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/954.html
