Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

Friends,

Nestlé is draining developing countries’ groundwater to make its Pure Life bottled water, destroying countries’ natural resources before forcing its people to buy their own water back.

Now Nestlé is moving into Pakistan and sucking up the local water supply, rendering entire areas uninhabitable in order to sell mineral-enriched water to the upper class and people in the EU and US. Meanwhile the poor watch their wells run dry and their children fall ill from dirty water.

Please join me in telling Nestlé to stop stealing Pakistan’s water and making villages uninhabitable. http://action.sumofus.org/a/nestle-water-pakistan/?sub=taf

Thank you

Hello Nada.

This is another cause and effect instances.

Nestle are doing this because of the people who buy it. If people refused to buy it, there would be no profit in it for Nestle.

Persuade people not to buy it, the supermarkets will not stock it. If supermarkets refuse to stock it, Nestle would not bother to do it.

Just a thought.

Thanks Lester, you know this little little speech? :

„Sometime they'll give a war and nobody will come"

- Carl Sandburg

Hello Nada.

I haven't heard of the quote. From personal experience, when one needs the support of other people, nobody is interested in helping.

"Love of country and fellow man can carry us far" - Kong Qiu.

If all embraced this moral virtue, things like this wouldn't happen. Even Kong Qiu found that many would listen but few would follow.
