within my world

I was sent just far away
and found myself at play
in a most peculiar land.

Everything seemed so normal
in a way
i couldn't put my finger on
and say
exactly what was wrong
and

i couldn't bring myself to believe
this or that or anything about
what was going on
but i did not want to leave.

I had to stay and live among
those who seemed to belong
but still i had to know
i had to know, i had to know
what turned out to be a healing
good beyond compare
and most appealing
to my need for the comfortable feeling
of knowing that all is right
within my world.
