What is success? Do we think about this? There are powerful currents about success pulling us. Lacking mindfulness and awareness, these become default, following our unwritten education. Money, fame, pleasure, and wanting to be loved. Ralph Waldo Emerson had other ideas. He wrote about success, “… to win the affection of children … to earn the appreciation of honest critics, and endure the betrayal of false friends … to find the best in others … leave the world a bit better … to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” Powerful words from an avid nature lover and great writer. Humility underpins much of what he calls success. Love and compassion permeate everything. Just reading this brings a smile to our face and warms our heart. Emaho!
