Compassion is the heart of the path. Sometimes it is easy to generate. Often it is not. We are so entrenched and addicted believing our happiness comes from taking care of number one. To step out and be radical, thinking that our happiness comes from caring for others, takes some doing. Especially when we’re being bombarded by criticism, or even abuse. Of course, we need to protect ourselves if we’ve being harmed. Yet, the so-called enemy is our best teacher. For she / he / they give us the most precious opportunity to see our negative knee-jerk mental habits. Once recognizing them, we can change them. While we are being bombarded, we often lack this broader perspective. Nevertheless, hang by your nails at cliffs edge and give it everything you have. Transform, transform, transform! Emaho!
