It's not often you find, a red and white spotted toadstool
For they are very sought after, at this time of Yule
But not by humans, for the Fly Agaric is poisonous you see
It's the Gnomes that collect them, to make a special kind of tea
A magical brew, that draws their ancestors near
Family and loved ones, from yester-year
And on a particular night, when the moon is full
The ancestors arrive, due to the Gnomes' loving pull
And the toadstool tea, consumed in cups of acorn
While in their best finery, their clothes all adorned
With red with white spots, even their pointy hats
As the ancient Gnome families arrive, at the door, rat-a-tat
Then stories are shared, all through the night
Cheeks all a ' rosy, eyes twinkling bright
And wisdom of the ages, long forgotten 'til now
Is brought to the fore, to help today's Gnomes with their know-how
So that's why the toadstools, with red and white spots
Are few and far between, and needed a lot
But only the Gnomes, can drink toadstool tea
They're not for consumption, by you or by me
So look from afar, and admire their cheery sight
The Gnomes say - don't touch! And never ever take a bite!
