I have brought back wonderful memories in you, Carmen.
That pleases me!
Some pieces were taken from there, but some are restorations or imitations, however, the whole village of Herculaneum and its location with relation to the sea were imitated in this museum.
And some more, but of course, these are imitations, I assume.
Oh, here we go:
Some more images of it, but I can find things of the interior
When I studied Interior Design, this villa was what I chose of my graduating presentation, we have a Museum in Los Angeles, the Getty Museum that still remains in Malibu, by the sea that was an imitation to the Herculaneum Villa.
Here is an image of it:
In a tunnel dug in the Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum, a beautiful mosaic floor decorated with a complex meander emerged. The mosaic belongs to a room of the Villa and dates back to the 1st century AD.
The Villa dei Papiri, also called Villa dei Pisoni, is a Roman Villa buried in 79 AD and it was so called because it kept inside a library with 1800 papyri (many still to be studied because they are semi-carbonized).
Thanks for participating, Carmen!
