i miss me

I miss the me I was before I became disabled... the confident, self-assured, audacious me... the me who walked into a room with my back straight and my head held high. I miss that me...

When you have mindfulness, when you have enough courage to go back to yourself and embrace the suffering in you, you learn a lot. By doing so, you transform your suffering. If you’re always trying to run away from your suffering, you have no chance to do that. That is why the Buddha told us to recognize the first noble truth, the truth of suffering, and to look deeply in order to discover the second noble truth, the cause of suffering. That is the only way the fourth noble truth, the path to transform suffering into happiness, can reveal itself. So we have to emphasize the role of suffering. If we are so afraid of suffering, we have no chance.

i must have sympathy for any physical disability but i have to say the opportunity to discover the reality found within the human frame is not dependant on a fully functioning body..   the most precious gift awaits so long as we can breathe.. the experience that waits for us inside this mortal frame is always pristine and perfect.. the challenge is to gain access to it.. its ours, its meant for us and knowing it is there can cause us to want which in turn will provide a path. So long as the heart beats we can make a progress which causes me to laugh and smile and is the source of real fulfilment and happiness. Its not ideas, its not thought and its not BS but it is the nature of life..
