THE GLOBAL PEACE MARCH 2019/2020
Jai Jagat 2020 is a 10,000 km march beginning on October 2, 2019 at the resting grounds of Mahatma Gandhi in New Delhi, on the 150th anniversary of his birth, and proceeding across 16 countries (Pakistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia (Abkhazia), Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia and Italy) to Geneva, Switzerland on the 25th of September, 2020 for International Peace Day.
10000 KM
The Peace Caravan will cover a total distance of more than 10,000 km and cross a total of 17 countries. The Caravan will not take the shorter way straight to Geneva. Each country will be crossed according to the established local networks which will constitue the steps of the global journey.
150 WALKERS
The March will be constituted of an all-time 150 people body. People don't have to join for the entire year and can participate to sections of the global journey. Applications for the March will open in Summer 2018. All sections will be at least 30-days-long and demand physical and mental strength.
The Jai Jagat 2020 is a nonviolent campaign to collectively reflect and act for global peace and justice.
Jai Jagat means "Victory of the World"
Comment
Jai Jagat 2020 is about creating ONE PLANET ONE PEOPLE. Putting the planet and its survival foremost, we must thrive together as a single unit of humanity - ris...ing above the barriers of race, class, caste, religions, and nationalities. Solutions to conflicts and crisis in the local and global context require us to recognize our common inheritance like that of a single and beautiful planet Earth.
See us in Geneva ..
