A Call to Action: Stand Up for Tibet!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !

Nine young Tibetans, eight monks and one nun,have self-immolated in eastern Tibet since March 2011.

Tibetans in Ngaba – and across Tibet – need our help.This growing tragedy could spiral even further into a nation-wide crisis ifChina is not held accountable for its atrocities in Tibet.

Together, we have the power to say Enough! It's time for Global Intervention in Tibet that will save Tibetan lives.

Students for a Free Tibet has joined a coalition of Tibet groups to call for multi-lateral, diplomatic intervention to address the grievances of Tibetans in Ngaba and across Tibet. To launch the campaign, we're asking you to pledge to Stand Up for Tibet.

PLEASE Watch a video message from Tendor, SFT's Executive Director, and Lhadon, Director for Tibet Action Institute introducing the Enough!campaign.

For this campaign to be successful, we need your help to mobilize a global groundswell of support for Tibet.

Please call the offices of your political representatives and ask them to take the pledge to Stand Up for Tibet. You can email or fax them the pledge text below.

If you have connections to celebrities, opinion makers, and other prominent members of your community, please ask them to take the pledge.

From November 3-4, Chinese President Hu Jintao will meet with world leaders at the G20 Summit in Cannes, France. By contacting our political representatives now and asking them to sign the pledge ,we can build pressure on our leaders to raise the crisis in Ngaba with President Hu and commit to multilateral action for Tibet.

On November 2, we are calling on everyone to joinus in the streets to publicly display the power and scope of the Tibetan Freedom Movement. We urge you to Stand Up for Tibet on November 2 by joining a protest or rally near you. To find out more, visit: List of current planned protests around the world http://standupfortibet.org/global-protests/

TAKE ACTION:

1. Sign the online pledge to Stand Up For Tibet;

2. Call and set-up meetings with your elected representatives and ask them to
sign the Pledge to Stand Up For Tibet;

3. Reach out to prominent people in your community – celebrities, union
leaders, spiritual leaders, social justice advocates – and ask them to Stand Up
for Tibet at this critical time;

4. Stand Up and Protest! Mark your calendars now: Wednesday, November 2nd is the global day of action;

5. Change your profile picture on Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and other forms of
social media to promote and inspire people to take part in the Enough!
campaign.

Through this coordinated international effort, we can show Tibetans in Tibet that people worldwide have heard their calls and are taking action to protect them. We can also show China that the world will not stand by while Tibetan lives are destroyed.

In solidarity,

Tendor, Kate, TenDolkar, Stef, Evie and all of us here at SFT HQ

 ENOUGH! Global

Intervention To Save Tibetan Lives

I Will Stand Up for Tibet

Nine young Tibetans have set fire to themselves in eastern Tibet since March 2011.  These unprecedented and truly desperate acts are a cry to the outside world for help.

Eight of these self-immolations are linked to Kirti Monastery in Ngaba, one of
the largest and most influential monastic institutions in Tibet. China's merciless and violent crackdown in Ngaba and throughout Tibet is intensifying Tibetan grievances and exacerbating the resentment and desperation felt across Tibet.

This growing tragedy, if left unchecked, could spiral even further into a
nation-wide crisis, unless the world acts now.

The international community, both citizens and governments, must Stand Up for Tibet. Global diplomatic intervention now will save Tibetan lives.

We demand a coordinated international response by world leaders to condemn China's repressive measures in Ngaba and across Tibet, and to institute multi-lateral mechanisms to advocate for the Tibetan people. Most immediately, we call on China to withdraw its security forces from Ngaba and across Tibet now, and stop the ongoing harassment and torture of monks.

By signing this statement, I support global diplomatic intervention for Tibet
and I pledge to stand up for Tibetans who have the right to live in peace and freedom like every other human being.

Let our roar of support echo across Tibet and finally be heard by Chinese
leaders in Beijing.
