Help Required For Impoverished Tibetans Living In Arunachal Pradesh, India.
Kitchen in the Children's Home.
MIAO-CHOEPHELLING is a Tibetan Refugee Settlement in Arunachal Pradesh, the north-east part of India, close to the Burmese border. The settlement, which is one of the poorest, is home to approximately 2800 Tibetans.
Children in the settlement are susceptible to numerous illnesses due to the very poor water quality, as there is no water purification system.
The school, Children’s Home and Elders Home are in desperate need of repair. The hospital is in a dreadful state, with very few medical supplies.
The following video was made in 2009 and the conditions have deteriorated significantly since then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdi77JsoxzE
Wolfgang Skerlec, an Austrian living in Salzburg visited Miao Choephelling last year, and has since been raising money for the settlement. He has a dedicated Facebook page
