A common space for harmonic peacemakers
Did you know that lawmakers in Uganda passed a bill that would make homosexuality a crime punishable by life in prison? If this bill becomes a law, not only will LGBT people be sent to prison for the rest of their lives, but people who "help" them like HIV doctors or even landlords could face prison time, too.
The only person who can stop it from becoming law is Uganda's president, and he recently told the press that he hasn't yet decided whether he'll accept or reject it.
I signed a petition urging President Yoweri Museveni to reject this hateful bill, and focus instead on improving human rights and addressing his country's HIV epidemic. Will you join me? Here's a link to the petition:
