[Krishna Jaya]

Chapter 3, Verse 24

 

If I did not perform

The prescribed duties,

Chaos would overpower all beings;

I would be the cause of confusion.

Humankind would be destroyed."

 

Srila Prabhupada:

 

“In order to check social disturbances, there are prescribed rules and regulations by which the population can automatically become peaceful and organized for spiritual progress in life.  Although such rules and regulations are for conditioned souls, because Krishna descended to establish the principles of spirituality, he followed the prescribed rules.”
