[Krishna Jaya]

Chapter 4, Verse 38

“There is no purifier on earth

As great as this wisdom.

Those made whole in Yoga

Experience this truth

In their heart of hearts.”

Sri Eknath Easwaran:

“Even if in the past we have lived selfishly, often trying to snatch happiness at the expense of others, this wisdom will reduce our big funeral pyre of Karma to ash.  Be not despondent over the past.  Let it not become oppressive.  All of the past with all of its lessons will fall away from us if we turn our eyes to the Lord with a one-pointed mind and a heart full of faith and devotion, as we travel untiringly towards the goal of unbroken union.  This is Krishna’s promise.”

Paramahansa Yogananda:

“When Yogis reach the ultimate success of freeing their consciousness once and for all from exclusive identification with thought and form, they realize within themselves their lost-and-found wisdom.  If, in a dark room, you move about indiscriminately, you are sure to suffer injury from collision with other objects.  But if you obey the laws of caution applicable to movement in darkness, you can navigate safely.  If, on the other hand, the room is suddenly flooded with light, those laws are spontaneously invalidated.  In the same way, spiritual methods and the gradual progress they ensure are the laws that serve as safe guides in Maya’s land of darkness.  When by these methods, the light of wisdom at last manifests, the laws of relativity are transcended with the instant banishment of darkness.  In that spontaneous Yoga of soul and spirit, Yogis become the infinite.”
