A common space for harmonic peacemakers
Chapter 7, Verse 6
"All things have their life in this Life.
The Universe is born within me,
And within me it will be destroyed."
Sri Aurobindo:
It is the Supreme Nature, the Para Prakriti, which is the power behind both the birth and the dissolution of the Universe. The birth of the Universe is the movement of evolution [Pravritti] of this conscious energy out of Spirit and its activity in this Universe of change. The dissolution is the withdrawing of that activity by involution [Nivritti] of the energy into the immutable existence and self-gathered power of Spirit. These are the action of the Supreme Nature.
[Pravritti and Nivritti apply both to the macrocosmic scale mentioned above and the microcosmic scale within a person. When a person gets lost in the web of Maya, Pravritti is operative, as the senses are always looking outward for gratification. When Nivritti is operative, the refined Buddhi, or discerning faculty, encourages the person to rest within and abide in that peace which passes all understanding.]
Eckhart Tolle:
Many expressions in common usage reveal the fact that people don't know who they are. You say, "He lost his life," as if life were something that could be lost. The truth is: you don't HAVE a life, you ARE Life, the One Life, the power of the one consciousness that pervades the entire Universe. It takes temporary forms to express itself as a stone, or a blade of grass, as an animal, a person, a star or a galaxy. Can you sense deep within that you already know that? Can you sense that you already are That?
I am not the content of my life.
I am Life. [Para Prakriti, the higher power]
I am the space in which all this happens.
I am consciousness.
I Am. [Purusha/Atman]
