63 Poachers Busted Over the Last Year
Over the last year Sea Shepherd anti-poaching efforts in East Timor, and off the East and West coast of Africa have resulted in the arrest of 63 vessels.
In 2017
LIBERIA: 7 vessels arrested
GABON: 2 vessels arrested
TIMOR LESTE: 18 vessels arrested
In 2018
LIBERIA: 13 vessels arrested
GABON: 5 vessels arrested
SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE: 1 vessel arrested
TANZANIA: 15 vessels arrested
CABO VERDE: 2 vessels arrested
Sea Shepherd has become the most effective international maritime anti-poaching organization on the planet and our partnerships with Liberia, Gabon, Tanzania, East Timor, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Mexico have proven to be an effective strategy.
Our ships and crews are dedicated to eradicating illegal, unregistered and undocumented fishing operations on the high seas and we are making a significant difference.
