Today is Lhabab Duchen, the festival celebrating Shakyamuni Buddha’s return to earth from Tushita (Indra’s realm) where he was teaching his mother. Tushita is a celestial being realm, abode of realized beings. The fact that the Buddha returned to teach us is very precious. Otherwise, we would be wandering aimlessly for eons and eons experiencing numerous sufferings upon sufferings. Because he came back and taught us, inspires us to practice diligently. The consequences of our actions are magnified 10 million times! This is one of the four major events in the Buddhist calendar each year. Be kind! Be diligent! Guard your mind, speech, and physical actions like you protect your eyes! Emaho!
