Healing

West whispers that come from the few,

take an overpowering view,

fanned by media and political spin,

but do they reflect honesty within?

Eastern breezes carry some hard

words in anguish from souls so marred

by turmoils begun long, long before,

many deep wounds from a distant shore.

Healing won't come from more bullets and knives,

that only ever leaves more grieving mothers and wives

Sanity shows clear when peace is planned well,

leaving a legacy which our children would be glad to tell.

So come all the real souls who know that true sense,

comes from small actions that are together immense,

not blinkered by tragic losses that cannot be changed,

but building a new future where none will be blamed.

And those who would spite us in search of more revenge,

are destined to find the waste they propose would never end

the troubles that came before would simply return

and so it will go on until war we can all spurn.

Waste no more lives or time, send peace missives to everyone,

only when the people of this world speak together as one,

can those who claim to lead us be sure the time has come,

to end all futile strife and see that peace can finally be won.
