In this land of lies only truth brings peace
and war goes on and on.
The embers smoulder constantly
then flare up for all to see
dragging in both you and me
they call it freedom and democracy.
But the bodies pile up just the same
oozing a trail from the damaged and lame
whilst the young are tricked again and again
into thinking death is worth the pay
whilst obscene wealth purloined by stealth
is hidden far away.

Those that stoke the fires
love greed that makes them b liars
and keeps them far from the fray.
Like the dragons of old caressing their gold
while the world burns down in a day.

In this land of the lies only truth brings peace
and demands from the wise for the slaughter to cease
cannot be suppressed
by those who caress the gold.
