ignorance comes like a busy bee

with threats to persuade you and me

to forget ourselves and only see

the flashing noisy emptiness.

ignorance comes with sweeties galore

each one a drug we are invited to score

whilst they separate us more and more

from our own hearts unless:

the 'cloud of unknowing' is dissolved away

then crystal clear clarity comes into play

with light there is dawning the first brand new day

with the rest of our life to address.
