The Cost of Happiness

[PEACE POETRY]

What would you give up to get?

Would you let go

and let it all slide away

if you could get peace, love and joy?

 

Would you rid yourself of inhibitions

and stand naked in the rain

if it were the only way to get clean?

Would you raise your vulnerabilities on a flag pole for all to see?

 

Would you say "I love you" 

and believe against the obvious

hoping for true love in return?

Would pride take back seat to persistence?

 

What would you give up to get?

And once you got it would you want more or be content?
