thanks for the replies..   Hi Rosmarie I would answer that maybe its like a star that as we get further away it has less and less influence on our experience of our life.. conversely as we get closer to ourselves it shines brighter until, like our sun its always affecting our life..  the using or knowing or feeling of our own being brings us continually closer to our true selves.. then it works more and more... I hope this makes it clearer for you.
