granddad granddad when did you grow old?
your face is all wrinkled and your head it is bald.

aahh! my little chikabiddy
I know I'm a funny sight
and to tell you the truth
it happened just last night.

I went to sleep and dreamt a lot
then when i woke
I looked and saw I got
a young mans body
gone to pot.
.
It started out so very well
then bit by bit it went to hell
and now I'm back and here with you
but I've grown old as you will to.
.
So while you are young my dear grandchild
do as i've done and learn to be wild
and free of ideas about wrong and right
and be careful about what you dream in the night
then with luck you will grow to a wonderful height.
