My poetry wants you

My poetry wants you
to enter the inside of yourself

To be electricity
to catalyze energy
into light
that was always there in potential
bur that perhaps not all could see

My poetry wants to invite you
into your old dark rooms
that now have a lamp turned on
that you may now see it all differently

My poetry wants to grab your hand
and guide you into your heart
that treasure chest of God
and stay there with you stubbornly
until you can no longer
deny your goodness

Like a child
who has once learned to walk
and cannot unlearn it,
my poetry wants to reveal
your own light to you
in such a way
that once you encounter
your true, luminous nature
it may never be fully unlearned.
