Mindful or Full Mind — by Dr. Steven Januar 24, 2018
I'm always jumping back and forth.
One minute I'm mindful.
The next I'm a mind full of stuff.
Stuff I like.
Stuff I don't.
Judging here and there.
Then I recognize my mind full of stuff.
And try to move back to mindful.
Look at that tree.
Listen to that waterfall.
Feel my lungs filling with cool air.
Smell the cedar.
Before mindful -- full mind.
During mindful -- noticing my full mind and letting it be.
Letting it be exactly how it is and exactly how it isn't.
After mindful -- full mind.
WISE WORDS FOR OUR TIMES: Human unity is a power that can overcome all differences of race, nationality, ideology or culture. Military leaders have aroused partial unity by means of fear, pride, anger, hate and lies. But unity can also be aroused, more fruitfully and enduringly, by love and the desire for justice.
-- Richard Gregg

The musk is within the deer
By Dariya Sahib of Bihar (1634 - 1780) English version by K. N. Upadhyaya
The musk is within the deer, But he searches for it outside in the grass instead of searching within himself.
He runs back and forth,
Wondering where the fragrance comes from.
The fragrance is nearby,
But he knows it not.
Caught by delusion, he roams about. So do all people wander in pilgrimages and outer observances.
If you wish to obtain your own true Home,
Then find it by looking within yourself
and dwell therein.
The true Lord resides within this body, Recognize Him through the manifestation of true love. By churning this body,
And by entering within yourself,
See the manifestation of true wisdom.
hello max .. i just got back..
Thanks for the poem.
this poem is popular in england at present.. probably because of the election.. its a bit long but a good read and a very good end.. its by Percy Bysshe Shelley .. after the peaceful crowds were attacked by the kings army..
As well as the tree does not end at the tips of its roots or its branches,
As well as the bird does not end at its feathers and its flight,
As well as the earth does not end at its highest mountain -
So I also do not end at my arm, my foot, my skin,
But constantly reach outwards, into all space and all time,
With my voice and my heart:
For my soul is the universe.
(Norman H. Russel, Cherokee Indians)
