Ecological Consciousness

"Ecological Consciousness is caring about the Earth as family, connecting with Nature consciously, respecting Mother Nature's laws, knowing that YOU are Nature. We all are."

Such a beautiful post .... the greens within the greens has a central vision .... the fine linguistic shades between oracular (prophetic vision) and ocular (the eye)....there in the picture!

I could not comment for a long time, because nothing showed for me to write on, so I checked everything possible, and I changed my password and voila, I am back!

    These are all so beautiful!

Sending love to the group ~ and taking in the distinction between ecological consciousness - athe poetry and philosophy of here - and environmental work. Because that's what I do much of the time - lobbying and following activists. It's not all political, but the victories and defeats most on the radar are about legislation, environmental impact statements, and administrating rules intended to protect species. How government responds to disasters and could prevent them. It goes on and on - yet the nature of nature is what is in our hearts...this is where it starts.

  • Carmen Elsa Irarragorri-Wyland

That is so true, Savlove, whether we do, or we do not care!

If more people cared, there would be no need for all of it, but unfortunately, that is not the case!

Is a great job you are doing!

"You are part of the universe; you are made of stars. When you look at your loved one, you see that he is also made of stars and carries eternity inside...

We cannot take anything out of anything else. We are the mountains and rivers; we are the sun and stars. Everything inter-is.

This is what the physicist David Bohm called “the implicate order.” At first we see only “the explicate order,” but as soon as we realize that things do not exist outside one another, we touch the deepest level of the cosmic.

We realize that we cannot take the water out of the wave. And we cannot take the wave out of the water. Just as the wave is the water itself, we are the ultimate.

If we want to touch the ultimate, we have to look within our own body and not outside. Contemplating deeply the body from within, we can touch reality in itself.

If your mindfulness and concentration are deep as you practice walking meditation in nature, or as you contemplate a beautiful sunset or your own human body, you can touch the true nature of the cosmos."

    ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

“Once I traveled far above the earth. This beloved planet we call home was covered with an elastic web of light. I watched in awe as it shimmered, stretched, dimmed, and shined, shaped by the collective effort of all life within it. Dissonance attracted more dissonance. Harmoney attracted harmony. I saw revolutions, droughts, famines, and the births of new nations. The most humble kindnesses made the brightest lights. Nothing was wasted.”

"The Universe is composed of subjects to be communed with, not objects to be exploited. Everything has its own voice. Thunder and lightening and stars and planets, flowers, birds, animals, trees, ~~ all these have voices, and they constitute a community of existence that is profoundly related."

    ―Thomas Berry
