When the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) released its final rule (CMS-3819-F) last year, it not only revised and modernized the conditions of participation (CoPs) that home health agencies must On October 27, 2017, CMS released a draft of the interpretive guidelines to the final CoPs, followed by revised protocols for surveyors, days later. The revised protocol includes new survey G tags and information related to how surveyors will prepare for the survey process. The state surveyors began using the new survey process January 22, 2018. Interpretive Guidelines §484.80 (h) (1) If, during the supervisory visit, a concern is identified at a patient's home without the aide being present, the skilled professional must go on site with the aide at the next scheduled aide visit to address the concern. The on-site supervisory visit must be made while the aide is providing care at The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released a draft the Interpretive Guidelines to the final Conditions of Participation for home health agencies that CMS issued in January 2017. The CoPs are scheduled to be implemented January 13, 2018. CMS has asked for feedback on the Draft Interpretive Guidelines. In addition to meeting the conditions of participation at § 418.10 through § 418.116, a hospice that provides hospice care to residents of a SNF/NF or ICF/IID must abide by the following additional standards. (a) Standard: Resident eligibility, election, and duration of benefits. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ("CMS") released a draft of the Interpretive Guidelines ("Draft Interpretive Guidelines") to the final Conditions of Participation ("CoPs") for home health agencies that CMS issued in January 2017. The CoPs are scheduled to be implemented January 13, 2018. The patient has the right to be informed of his or her rights, and the hospice must protect and promote the exercise of these rights.
