Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

Devastation,
I see it's face,
Lay in it's litter,
The wake of a madman's evil dream.
My people,
Family,
The children,
Discarded,
Strewn and heaped like worn out rag dolls ready for the fire.
In the flickering light I gaze across their gaunt, silent remnants.
My mind is shattered,
Heart withered,
For I sense them wailing out to the world,
And wonder,
Who is there to hear a strangled cry of freedom,
The voice of Dachau's children.

This piece of artwork is going to be auctioned off for the First Annual Clear Creek Festival for Peace and Freedom. The wood is especially appropriate for the subject matter, and the story of it's creation is a miraculous one. I hope to share it some day.

Quote of the moment:

"PEACE
NOT WAR
GENEROSITY
NOT GREED
EMPATHY
NOT HATE
CREATIVITY
NOT DESTRUCTION
EVERYBODY
NOT JUST US"
