her image of self was fractured
her thoughts were all askew
for how she truly saw herself
was in the eyes of you

you honored not agreement
made with sacred trust
layed waste to your integrity
and now it gathers rust

just who the hell are you any way
do you even know
you swim against life’s currents
trying to change the flow

on the wall’s a mirror
you seek to tell you lies
but stop . . . .just a second
look deeply in your eyes

for when you hurt another
you hurt your self as well
the final outcome approaches
from the story that you tell

you can fool the others sometimes
but never your self my friend
the spirit of truth resides within
and is with you ‘til the end

so get up and dust off
from “self” sins repent
step forth in truth and be
to her the love that’s meant

for in your eyes she lingers
to see all she may be
‘tis her love for you that’s bondage
won’t you set her free
