A common space for harmonic peacemakers
Today on July 6th, millions around the world are celebrating the 79th birthday of one of the most recognizable icons of peace, hope and compassion: His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
As a young leader in exile, His Holiness the Dalai Lama began a tireless journey to lead his people in their freedom struggle. In the past fifty years he has created a thriving exile community, built international support for Tibet, and inspired an entire generation of people of conscience that a better world is possible.
Wishing His Holiness the Dalai Lama a very happy birthday, long life and perfect health.
"You make the path that combines emptiness and compassion grow clearer and clearer,
Lord of the teachings and beings in the Snowy Land of Tibet,
To you, the Lotus Holder Tenzin Gyatso,
We pray: may all your wishes be spontaneously fulfilled!"
In accordance with the prayers made by Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, these are the blessed words of His Holiness himself.
Sarva mangalam!
Comment
…his being exactly two days older than me, I always looked upon him as my older brother! His life has been exemplary - his cause clear and compelling.
Now what about that young man in China whom we also love…? Why must those of our brothers, too, continue to defile our lands …when they have always been sweet and kind? That their/our disdain for the least of us makes us less than what we aspire to be …is a painful reminder of the grief we must now endure…
…but the Great Purposeful One shall resolve it now! Those in Peace will kneel, even prostrate themselves in awe and humility before this manifestation - all Blessings are bestowed by the Creator to whom we owe our very life…! In Body and Spirit …we hasten to catch up with the Promised Land
happy birthday master
