Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

We tend to become complacent. When things are going well, we forget to practice the precious Dharma. When things are not going well, we practice the precious Dharma, albeit feebly. This complacency leads to laziness, which leads to a missed chance to practice this precious Dharma. We forget that we will die. And sooner than we think. When will this precious opportunity to practice Dharma come again? Nothing is definite. Suffering is all around us, and even within us. Yet, we forget compassion. Constantly, day and night even in dream, we grasp at hallucinations of reality. We cling to perceptions of a solid, independent reality. Shame on us! We are asleep! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Practice this precious Dharma now, and now, and now! Richard Moore (photo) lost his eyesight as a child from a British soldier in Northern Ireland. He later forgave the soldier and became friends. HH the Dalai Lama also became friends with Richard Moore, allowing him to touch his face in lieu of blindness. Emaho.
