The self-immolations in Tibet throughout 2011 and still continuing have been called the must under-reported story relating to human rights violations in the world. On March 28, 2012 Vice President of the European Parliament Edward McMillan-Scott and Kristiina Ojuland, MEP are hosting a conference dedicated to the desperate situation in Tibet, which has driven a number of individuals to self-harm and suicide through flames.

The conference aims to debunk the myths that have been fabricated by the People's Republic of China and to call the European External Action Service to address this tragic situation more vigorously.
