It feels like a 5-colored crystal holographic palace here in Dharamsala. There were several days of the Geluk International Foundation meetings working towards obtaining similar Indian University academic credit for the monks completing the 16 – 18 years Geshe course of study. Monday was a gala event organized by the people from Dhomey, Amdo, Eastern Tibet. It was a magnificent event for HH the Dalai Lama and all those present and those watching online. Saturday the Tibetan Parliament in exile will offer a Tenshug, long-life offering to HH Dalai Lama. And Sunday is the birthday celebration offered by the same group. Many people have gathered from all over the world to pray and request HH to live a long life. Despite the tremendous difficulties facing Tibetans inside Tibet, these are glorious days celebrating HH the Dalai Lama, while remembering those 6 million Tibetans inside Tibet living under oppression for 66 years. HH the Dalai Lama has declared in no uncertain terms, that the Institution of the Dalai Lama will continue!!! He has also reaffirmed the recognition of a future Dalai Lama will not be subject to politics, or outside interference. Responsibility for this process rests with the Gaden Phodrang Trust, the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Happy American Independence Day with sadness seeing our democratic institutions being rapidly dismantled. We must resist peacefully but with strength! Emaho!
