Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

Chapter 2, Verse 71

“Those who abandon all pride of possession

And pride of self

Reach the goal of peace supreme.”

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi:

“Because people who have abandoned all pride of possession act while remaining free from the sense of ‘I’ and ‘mine’, it follows quite naturally that activity does not in any way disturb this state of steady wisdom.  All actions are prompted by the divine intelligence working through these individuals.  Such lives are natural expressions of cosmic intelligence in the world.  It is the state of eternal freedom here on Earth.  Nothing in this world is able to overshadow or disturb this state, because it is inclusive of all that lies between the two poles of life: the transcendental divine nature of the absolute and human nature in relative existence.”

Swami Shivananda:

“The wise ones who live destitute of longing, abandoning all desires except the desire for constant union with the divine, will see even that desire dissolve into fulfillment.  Those unencumbered souls are satisfied with the bare necessities of life and have no attachment even to those bare necessities.  Moksha, or eternal peace, is theirs.”
