Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

Let me explain how Israel resets the headlines—while Palestinians pay the price

Let me explain how Israel resets the headlines—while Palestinians pay the price.

These so-called limited ceasefires? Let’s call them what they are: half-measured, half-assed, two-street ceasefires.

A that-street-not-this-street ceasefire.
A PR maneuver, not a path to peace.

Israel announces them at any minute, ends them at any minute, and controls every detail. For people in Gaza, it barely registers. The drones still buzz overhead. The fear still grips the air. The killing never truly stops. Nothing changes—except the headlines.

And that’s exactly the point.

When the media heat rises, Israel flips the switch: a short “pause,” a vague promise, a breathless press release. And suddenly, the narrative shifts. The world hears “restraint,” “aid,” “calm.”

Then they go into full PR overdrive.

Ads, talking points, foreign press briefings—it’s crisis communications at its most cynical. They spend more energy talking about letting aid in than actually letting aid in.

To this day, no trucks have entered.

No bread. No medicine. No fuel. Just headlines.

Meanwhile, Palestinians remain under siege. Starving. Grieving.

For nearly 22 months, this has been the rhythm: massacre, announcement, distraction, repeat.

And the people of Gaza are tired.
Tired of PR posing as policy.
Tired of lies dressed as lifelines.
Tired of the world falling for it.

P.S. — Notice how the conversation has shifted? We now say “end the starvation” but rarely mention “ceasefire.” That’s not by accident. That’s part of the play. They're starving people and bombing them—but somehow, only one of those makes it into the headlines.
Don’t let the headlines fool you.
This isn’t a ceasefire. It’s a stunt.
