Love for Tibet

"Never give up"

No matter what is going on
Never give up
Develop the heart
Too much energy in your country
Is spent developing the mind
Instead of the heart
Be compassionate
Not just to your friends
But to everyone
Be compassionate
Work for peace
In your heart and in the world
Work for peace
And I say again
Never give up
No matter what is going on around you
Never give up.

- Poem by the Dalai Lama -

The true meaning of life

We are visitors on this planet,
We are here for ninety
Or hundred years
At the very most.
During that period,
We must try to do something good,
Something useful,
With our lives.
If you contribute to other people’s happiness,
You will find the true goal,
The true meaning of life.

- 14th Dalai Lama

Let us cultivate love and compassion, both of which give life true meaning. This... is the religion I preach. It is simple. Its temple is the heart. Its teaching is love and compassion. Its moral values are loving and respecting others, whoever they may be. Whether one is a lay person or a monastic, we have no other option if we wish to survive in this world..

What is the Sangha?

They are the students of the Lama,
My fellow travellers on the path,
My brothers and sisters in the Dharma,
The Dakas and Dakinis, dancing in the Lama`s Mandala,
They are my teachers,
They are my friends,
They are my protection and refuge,
They are my lovers and beloved,
Without them I cannot survive.
With them, I cannot fail.
They are the love and compassion
That can never die.
