Very interesting videos, Bridget and Rosemary, and what a lovely picture, dear Eva...
I took this photo a few years ago in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. I miss the serenity of this mother, carrying her baby. I miss Africa and its people.
Now Ethiopia is experiencing terrible ethnic conflicts. And the entire world is experiencing a terrible pandemic.
Where do you find hope during this difficult time? I find it in the resilience of so many people of the world, like this mother. Most of them always experience difficult times and they keep walking, living and smiling. I try to learn from them.

That is such a great reminder to everyone of the most beautiful things in life, that sometimes pass without been noticed, the gift of sharing whatever we have, no matter the value that anyone assigns to it.
wonderful
in this time of cotonavirus all are learning to appreciate
the more simple in life
So heartwarming♡...and yes it is a treasure this beautiful Lady holds in her hands!
I noticed Katalin a few months ago, on the alleys of a small village inhabited by ethnic Hungarians in Transylvania, Romania. This lovely woman was holding some herbs from her garden. She was eager to offer them as a gift to another lady from the village.
When I look at Katalin, I see a whole generation of Eastern Europeans who have been through difficult times, but learned to see the beauty of simple pleasures.
As children, they witnessed the second world war at its epicentre. Then an abrupt and painful transition to communism and cruel dictators. Then another painful transition to capitalism. But there was also a lot of happiness in their life, because they valued even the little things. Maybe that’s why this small bundle of herbs looks like a treasure in Katalin’s hands.
