Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

Chakras on Thangkas from Nepal and Tibet.

Have anyone any idea what is the name of these images? I do not know. In Nepal, it was said that is a yoga Man.

I think coming from the nostrils in this particular thangka could be considered black smoke, which is used in some Tibetan Buddhist schools (Kagyu and Nyingma for sure) as a visual support while doing breathing excersises to purify the channels and inner air, exhaling first only left nostril, then right, and then both (exhaling the foul air/three main poisons). This is what comes to my mind remembering a small part of the teachings from the Nyingma lineage practise preliminaries. Visualization practise is said by Venerable Tenzin Palmo to have deeper effect on the deeper layers of the mind than reading a practise (hence gods, demons and thousand armed Avalokiteshvara). Important to be intoduced by an authentic master and not experiment. Could be most helpful to have a tibetan translator to help with the calligraphy, for deeper understanding. Sarva Mangalam.

The late Dr Francisco Coll, founder of the Americana Leadership College, not only knew about these chakras, but in conjunction with Spirit, created a full consultant facility, to explore these areas for each individual.

Consultants are trained by experiencing these profiles them selves, , they can then be of service to people and Spirit, by working with the individual's own guidance to get the information needed for each chakra. Sounds amazing but ALC is doing it right now and has been since around 1980.

The seven signs above the pineal chakra, ( top and back of the head ) probably refer to the spiritual number 7 which crops up all over the place in spiritual matters.

The pineal chakra is our energy inflow area. (Spiritual or universal energy) .

The chakra around our genital area is involved with our needs.

The chakra around our lower back area is involved with our wants.

The chakra around  our tummy, is involved with our identifacation.

The chakra around our heart is involved with our drive.

The chakra around our throat is involved with our relating ( being comfortable around people)

The chakra around our third eye area is our energy outflow area.

All these areas are subject to our intelectualy held concepts. which can work against our individual Spiritual nature and cause sickness and disease in our physical body.        www.alcworld.com

Dear Lothar,

I think these image is also used in Tibetan medicine. To give the patient the right herbs according with the chakra which is blocked or more/less active then normaly should be.

Also in Tibetan yoga they use this kind of images to open the chakras and bring them all into balance by meditation.

I know in Hindu tradition they also use it for chakra meditation by focussing on it and chanting/repeting the Holy syllables, like AUM,according with the chakras .

Hope this reply brings you more clearness.

It is a Yoga medicine man indeed.

This painting depicts the symbolic forces of the chakras that,in their untransformed state, confine us to a life of instinct.

Once awakened these same potent energies are vehicles for attaining our innermost potential.
