Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

Compassion is no longer a luxury; it is a matter of survival

What feels, at times like these, so solid, stuck, and hyperreal, is in fact like a dream. Everything seems so solid and real, yet closer inspection shows us, “it ain’t so, Joe.” ‘Us and them’ way of thinking arises out of misunderstanding who we are. When we begin to appreciate this, walls and silos of the ego break down. As the ego is dismantled, we find a deeper reality where unconditional love is paramount. We return home to peace and safety. This inner sanctuary is immune to conflict; immune to misogyny; immune to racism; and immune to hate. Only love and understanding abide here. This is not an escape. It is reality per excellence. We don’t back away from fighting injustice on a human or planetary level. Rather, we embrace the struggle, motivated by love and compassion, not anger. As HH the Dalai Lama often teaches, “compassion is no longer a luxury; it is a matter of survival.” Emaho!
