A common space for harmonic peacemakers
What is happening in the US today, and in many other parts of the world, is pathetic, painful and disgusting. The inability of civilized human beings to get along in this modern age is shameful. The burden for this lies heavily on the White race and, to a lesser degree on the people of color.
As long as the Whites refuse to acknowledge and atone for the historic plunder and pillage of the rest of the world the wounds will fester. The foundation for the affluence today is built on the blood, sweat, tears and bodies of the black race.
You may have abolished slavery but the world continues to enslave the poor. Poverty has become the source of modern day slaves.
You fought wars and killed millions of people to protect “democracy” but what you were really protecting is rampant capitalism which breeds greed, exploitation and disparities. This unchecked materialism has not only spread around the world but it has bred a Culture of Violence that is destroying the soul of humanity.
What good is democracy when it breeds hate, disparities, and exploitation and brings out the worst in human beings? What good is the freedom of speech when no one hears the agonizing wails of the poor and the oppressed? What good are Rights without Responsibilities?
Democracy and Capitalism can be meaningful only when they are attached to higher principles. If we want to enjoy Rights we must be willing to shoulder the Responsibilities. We should practice Compassionate Capitalism where we can create a level playing field for all and all can enjoy equal benefits and rights. Capitalism today enriched the individual, Compassionate Capitalism seeks to enrich the community.
It is the responsibility of the authorities and all of us to eliminate the Culture of Violence that is, like a malignant cancer, eating away at our souls. This culture of violence has invaded every aspect of our lives from our politics and sports to our speech and relationships.
WHAT WE NEED TO DESTROY IS THIS CANCER NOT OUR HUMANITY!!
