Musings . . .

 

i went to my muses

and i commanded

“SPEAK to ME”

and they laughed

i was not amused

and somewhat confused

by the ruse of their play with my intent

 

in the silence,

or what i thought silence to be

i heard a whisper in my deep consciousness

barely audible

but certainly plausible

for i have heard this voice before

it was as if there was a door

being opened

 

and that is when it began

again

and the first thing they spoke

removed my yoke

of unbelief

and misunderstanding

 

and in my quixotic relief

of their presence

there was this sense

that it was not that they were not speaking

it was i who was not listening
