Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

this is a recording of a song titled « Hope » which was originally written around december 2012, and intended as a lullaby for grown-ups.

the audio and performance video in this particular version have been recorded while rehearsing songs for the upcoming busking season, in may 2020.

i had not originally planned to release this version, but after watching the capture and seeing that there were only a few flubs here and there, i decided to share it.

the video features the beautiful Quebec City in which i'm grateful to live.

lyrics :

verse 1
life took back your cherries bowl
in the long run even heaven takes its toll
be strong baby don't you cry
let joyful thought illuminate your eye

verse 2
you hardly put a foot wrong
but the way to paradise is long
you can learn from each mistake
the lesson most apposite for your sake

verse 3
see the clouds are not that grey
any moment the sun might shine its ray
sing a simple lullaby
let melody kiss melancholy goodbye

pre-chorus
hush now
tomorrow's another day
why worry this one away
now how can you make the most of this

chorus
hopeful sunrise
a new beginning
the smile in your eyes
keeps me going

last chorus
glorious surprise
the muse is calling
with a song in her eyes
she keeps me going
