A common space for harmonic peacemakers

Ravi,
I have found in my own relationship with Krishna and the Gita that there is a fine line between having compassion for my shortcomings and the patience that goes along with that (which helps with short-temperedness and frustration) on the one hand, and on the other hand, cultivating a healthy zeal for progress on the path. I seek the balance between these two elements. Too much of the former results in an idiot compassion that opens the gates to laziness, while too much of the latter results in disappointment when my expectations exceed the natural, gradual progress that comes with deliberate, steady, and patient practice.
I have found, too, that it is difficult to have compassion for others if I don't have compassion for myself.
Bright Blessings,
Krishna Jaya
