A common space for harmonic peacemakers
Someone told me it's in India, so I went looking for wisdom,
when I found a wise man who said to me,“just listen -
you've searched and you've searched all your life on the outside
and after all this time you've still got something to find,
but I think I can help, you see, this thing we all pursue
can be found in one place, inside of you!”
As you can imagine, I took this as great news,
unfortunately so did a crowd of peace hungry fools,
who were convinced they'd caught a glimpse and could see right through
to the elusive truth, inside the mind of the guru
“We found peace! We've found peace!” They cried in the streets,
and started telling everyone...that peace was in me!
“He told us where it is! It's in him, that guy there!
Quick, pin him down and drain him, we'll all have our fair share!”
I darted into a shop, hid on the floor behind a counter,
the baying crowd banged on the door, their shouts were getting louder,
but then suddenly it stopped, and the crowd walked away
and I could hear only the voice of the wise man again
He said “Yes, peace is in this man, that is for sure
But he cannot give it to you even if you break down the door,
it is not his, nor yours, nor is it mine,
spend some time looking inside, and then you will find
that peace” but I fear that some stopped listening too soon,
as they turned to me and said
“Damn, I've always wanted that peace he said is inside of you”
