Peace for the Soul

A common space for harmonic peacemakers

Every one of us will die. We do not know when

Please don’t live your life scattered hither and dither like a dry leaf blown in the wind. Our ingrown habits have not gotten us the happiness we want, neither for ourselves nor others. Dharma is all about recognizing our dysfunctional habits and transforming them. This requires diligence and constant effort. Laziness erodes our diligence and effort. Just remembering the three principles of the path is amazing: renunciation, Bodhicitta, and the wisdom of emptiness. Trying to practice them is over-the-top! If we constantly forget what we’ve learned, then the teachings are not much benefit. If we find ourselves lapsing into laziness, remember death and impermanence. Every one of us will die. We do not know when. This is why monks and nuns after finishing a meal, turn their cups upside down. They don’t know which will come next, the next cup of tea or the next life. With this in mind, make every day meaningful. Then the precious teachings of the precious Dharma are not wasted. Emaho!

we do not own our life. It is leased to us for a limited time. Nobody knows when that time will come.

Quote of the moment:

"PEACE
NOT WAR
GENEROSITY
NOT GREED
EMPATHY
NOT HATE
CREATIVITY
NOT DESTRUCTION
EVERYBODY
NOT JUST US"
