His Holiness the Dalai Lama is presented with the International Freedom Conductor Award by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 20th, 2010. Previous recipients of the award include Rosa Parks, South African Anglican Bishop Desmond Tutu, and the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Center for Human Rights.

My home town - lots of local coverage. I would have gone but $250.00 too much for me. Happy he was honored for all he has done and all his inspiration to the world for peace. Hope he see peace in his own land before he leaves us. A classmate of mine, who co-founded the German Green Party (Petra Kelly) was a great supporter of his. She is gone but my hope is the two of them someday can see peace and freedom in Tibet.
